Nothing New....

So today was just a laid back kinda day. We got up this morning with the expectation that we were going to hit the pool for some swimming. KG was excited because we were going to call and see if Aunt Kate and Bobby Tut Tut wanted to join us. (She LOVES an opportunity to see Aunt Kate and Tut Tut!) So we get up and give it long enough for the sun to burn off the haze and it never happens! The clouds just roll in... So about 15 till 9 we just decided we'd play outside for the morning. We go outside and I push her on the swing for no less than hour and 15 mins and Russ takes over. Russ pushes for 5 mins tops and wouldn't you know that the rain Gods shine down upon him and we are chased inside by the rain! Lucky him, my arm is still hurting!
So basically we spent a low key day inside after that and did absolutely NOTHING! It was great!!

Frustration with fire ants

So our new world revolves fire ants now.... They are so small and tiny but they now officially run our lives! We took Katie Grace to her appointment with the allergist yesterday and things didn't go as I planned them. I thought the appointment was going to be a little soon as soon as they called and gave Russ the appointment but we went anyway so we could get a "plan". So in we go at 2:30 in the afternoon with no nap! (because we got her hearing checked at 11 so there was no time for a nap and she was ILL). It was all a big mess. With KG being loud because she was bored and RUss getting irritated with how loud she was being.

So we finally see Dr. Raby after about 45 mins of waiting. Dr. Raby informed us that can't do the testing until she has been 3 weeks since the reaction. Yay! That stinks that we have to wait that long to know what to expect next time. We left with a sheet of paper that tells us if she gets bit again to give her benadryl, shoot her witht he epi -pin and call 911 or get her to the ER as quickly as possible. Boy this should be a blast when she goes back to daycare and then school!

On a side note, Russ and I were playing with the epi practice pin last night and he was 'injecting' it into his leg. So then he gets the bright idea that she is going to do it to KG and she brusts into tears! I mean big huge crocodile tears! To say the least she didn't not like that!

First Trip to the ER

This weekend was a mommy weekend! I was throwing a bachelorette party/slumber party for my future SIL last night and it had a no men/no children rule. So we decided that hubby was going to and stay at his parents house so that KG could hangout with her grandparents. Hubby's dad only has Saturdays off so they had lots of things planned to do. So I was lazy this morning and didn't do much. I scrapbooked some thank you cards for my upcoming interviews this week and then I was reading some classroom discipline material trying to get better prepared for said interviews. Imagine my surprise when I answer the phone to hear hubby say I'm taking KG to the ER meet us there!

I had talked to hubby several time throughout the day and things were going great. They had swung and played outside and had just made a trip to walmart to get some beans for Nana. (KG LOVES trips to Walmart!) Anywho Russ said they went back to the house and rode on the 4-wheeler for a little bit around the farm and then KG got back and decided she wanted to go fishing with her Pap-paw while Nana finished dinner.

So she is fishing and starts fussing. Pap-paw checks on her and sees that she has 3 ant bites on her feet. So Russ takes her inside because she always gets a huge bump when she gets bit. So hubby said that within 5 mins of getting her in the house and putting some after bite and ice on her bites that her eyes started getting puffy and she was getting dots all over her face. So he told him mom it was emergency room time.

That was the longest hours drive that I have ever made in my life. THe whole time I prayed and tried to stay calm. It's so hard when something is wrong with your baby and you don't know what. When I had talked to him on the phone as they drove all I could hear was her screaming. I don't think I will ever forget that sound!

Anyway, they got her there and she ended up with a shot of benadryl, steroids, and ephrenrine. The swelling started going down so they sent us home.Thank goodness for hubby's ability to spot something wrong and then drive 90 to get her to the hospital. That was such a scary thing!!! I don't think I've ever hugged her so tight and I think I scared her with the crying when I came in the ER door and saw her. I just wanted to hold her even though she was over being held!

Interview Tomorrow

So tomorrow is my first interview of the 'season'. I'm excited but also very nervous! I've done what 'studying' I can do and I think I am prepared. I'm not certain that this is the school that will hire my but I am thankful for opportunity that Mrs. Hicks at Endeavor is giving me! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I'm officially a blogger!

So I've officially entered the world of blogging... Interesting. To me it's almost like an online diary. So that being said let's get started. Today we took Katie Grace swimming for the first time this summer. I think she really loved it! At first she wasn't so sure but two hours later she had gotten pretty brave! She would scoot over the edge into the water and then shimmy down the side. Keep in mind that we had a life vest on her. The kind that goes all the way around and straps between the legs to keep it from riding up in her face. She liked it.

Also this morning I got a call from Endeavor this morning and I have an interview there on Thursday morning. Looking forward to that even though working way over there would mean a LONG drive every morning.

Now hubby and I are sitting on the couch. He's taking quizzes on facebook and I'm blogging. My mom just brought baby girl in to tell us that dinner is almost ready! Yay I love when I dont have to cook!

Ok I think that is all for today!
